Woman chased by mob and shot dead outside police station in Utter Pradesh

A woman was chased by a mob and then shot dead outside of a police station in Utter Pradesh.

The victim, identified as Fatima, was involved in a land dispute which caused a fight to erupt between two families on Monday night, 17 April.

As the fight escalated, Fatima ran towards the police station but a mob involving people from the rival family chased and fired at her. Fatima was rushed to a local hospital but did not survive.

Police officers were outnumbered by the mob but later arrested the attacker and 11 others.
