An Indian woman who claims she was forced by a Pakistani man to marry him has returned to India.
The woman, identified only as Uzma, alleges that she was coerced into marrying the man at gunpoint. A court in Islamabad granted her request to leave yesterday, 24 May.
Reports say she was escorted across the Wagah border by Indian high commission officials.
Uzma met Tahir Ali in Malaysia, where, according to media reports, she fell in love with him.
They then travelled to Pakistan where she alleges she was forced into marriage on 3 May.
She filed an appeal in the Islamabad High Court on 12 May, accusing her husband of taking away her travel documents to stop her from leaving the country.
She also accused that Ali tortured her and that she was not informed that he was already a marred father-of-four. He denied the allegations and accused her of lying.
