A man who has been convicted for the rape and murder of a child in Pakistan has been handed four death sentences.
24-year-old Imran Ali was arrested in connection with a high-profile case in which six-year-old Zainab Ansari’s body was found on a rubbish heap in the city of Kasur in January.
The case triggered riots across the country, resulting in the death of two protesters.
Reports say Ali confessed to the crimes and that he will be tried for further cases of assault and murder in the area that police have alleged he committed.
