Andy Murray could make his return to tennis before the start of the grass-season.
The 30-year-old three-time Grand Slam champion had hip surgery on 8 January and has not played since his defeat to American Sam Querry in the quarter-finals of Wimbledon last year.
According to sources close to the former world number one, the Scot is making good recovery.
He is now back in the gym, where he is using weights and working out on the exercise bike and a vertical climber.
If he sticks to a 14-week recovery plan, as he has referred to, then a return could be possible in May. However, it seems doubtful he would risk rushing for the clay-season in the spring.
If he waits for the grass his first opportunity would come in south-west London when the Surbiton Trophy is staged on the ATP Challenger Tour.
