Barnsley FC boss Daniel Stendel has left the club "with immediate effect", according to the championship side
The head coach joined The Tykes in June last year and guided them to promotion from League One.
He leaves Barnsley in the relegation places, having only won one game this season.
A club statement released on the matter said: "Barnsley Football Club confirms that it has separated from Daniel Stendel with immediate effect. Adam Murray has been appointed caretaker manager."
Barnsley's next game comes against promotion contenders Swansea City on Saturday 19 October
