Ben Stokes joins New Zealand side Canterbury

Ben Stokes has joined the New Zealand side Canterbury.

The England all-rounder was arrested in September on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm following an incident in Bristol.

He has been made unavailable to play for his country and this stance will not be reviewed until a decision has been made on whether to charge him.

The decision will not be made for the next few weeks, meaning he will most likely not play during the Ashes series in Australia.

However, he is still able to play in domestic games and is set to feature for the first time in a 50-over game against Otago on Sunday 2 December, which coincides with day two of England's second Test against Australia in Adelaide.
