Birmingham beat Liverpool to become the British bid to host the Commonwealth Games in 2022.
Durban in South Africa was stripped of the games earlier this year as the Commonwealth Games Federation was not convinced it could successfully host the event and launched a new search for a host city.
Canada and Malaysia are among the other countries expected to bid to host the 2022 Games.
