Great Britain dominated the team pursuit events to take two golds at the Track Cycling World Cup at Manchester.
Elinor Barker, Katie Archibald, Emily Nelson and Neah Evans crushed the Italian team in the final, almost finishing on the same straight. It was Barker and Archibald’s second gold of the weekend, after also finishing top in a thrilling Madison display.
GB’s men’s pursuit team, made up of Ed Clancy, Steven Burke, Ollie Wood and Kian Emadi, kept it close in the semi-final, beating the French after only going into a positive split on the final line. However, they brushed aside Denmark in the final, posting a time of 3-55.847 to the Dane’s 4-01.535.
Great Britain finished the weekend second in the medals table, with five overall. Germany topped the table with four gold medals, three of which were won by Kristina Vogel.
