Chris Coleman has departed from Sunderland following the club's relegation to League One.
The Black Cats, who suffered a second successive relegation after losing to Burton on 21 April, say the 47-year-old has been "released from his contract".
He won just five of his 29 games in charge as they fell to the third tier for the first time in 30 years.
Coleman left managing Wales after they failed to qualify for this summer's World Cup and replaced Simon Grayson as Sunderland boss in November.
