Dom Parsons took bronze in the men’s skeleton competition to win the first medal for Great Britain at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
The 30-year-old finished 0.11 seconds ahead of fourth-placed Martins Dukurs with a combined time of three minutes 22.20 seconds.
Parsons look like he scuppered his chance of medal glory until world champion Dukurs made mistakes on his final run.
South Korea's Yun Sung-bin won gold by a record 1.63secs and Nikita Tregubov, an Olympic Athlete from Russia, silver.
Team GB’s skeleton team have been subject to scrutiny over the use of skin suits developed by British Cycling, which have been alleged to provide aerodynamic advantage. However, the suits were given the green light by the governing body.
