Captain Harry Kane provided a last gasp winner to beat Tunisia in England’s first game of the World Cup in Russia.
Kane scored his second goal of the game to seal a 2-1 victory in Volgograd.
England started well and deserved to go in front in the 11th minute but it looked at one point that they would rue a number of missed chances as Kyle Walker gave away a controversial penalty for an elbow on Fakhreddine Ben Youssef – converted by Ferjani Sassi.
Tunisia dug in to frustrate England in the second half but Kane was the match-winner with a late header from Harry Maguire's flick.
