FA expected to pass new suspension after diving rule

Diving, what some fans believe to be the scourge of the game, is being directly targeted by new proposed legislation.

Players who dive in English football may face bans from next season.

The Football Association will vote on whether retrospective analysis of simulation will be brought in. If a player is to be found guilty of diving, in a unanimous decision, then a suspension would be handed down.

It is understood that the governing body is mostly in agreement with the Premier League, the English Football League and the Professional Footballers' Association, in bringing in the rule change.
