The new bosses of Formula 1 have confirmed that the sport will no longer use grid girls.
The use of models, who surround cars on race day holding umbrellas and perform promotional tasks, will not be present at the start of the 2018 World Championship season.
Sean Bratches, managing director of commercial operations, said: "We don't believe the practice is appropriate or relevant to Formula 1 and its fans, old and new, across the world."
In a similar move, the Professional Darts Corporation announced walk-on girls would no longer be used earlier in the week.
