Gareth Bale becomes Wales’ top goalscorer

Gareth Bale has become the leading goalscorer for his nation.

Ryan Giggs’ reign as manager of Wales got off to a flyer, beating China 6-0 in the semi-final of the China Cup.

The side were helped to victory by a hat-trick from an irrepressible Bale.

The 28-year-old Real Madrid forward surpassed Ian Rush’s mark of 28 goals to become Wales’ all-time leading scorer.

Giggs' men will now play in Monday's final of the China Cup friendly tournament, against the winner of the second semi-final between Uruguay and the Czech Republic on Friday 23 March.
