Cricket South Africa (CSA) has said Imran Tahir was racially abused by a spectator during a match in Johannesburg.
The South African leg-spinner reported the alleged incident to stadium security whilst playing in the fourth one day international against India.
CSA said it is investigating the matter in a statement on Monday 12 February: "Imran Tahir was verbally and racially abused by an unknown man.
"Tahir reported the incident to the stadium security and was subsequently accompanied by two security personnel to identify and to have the man ejected from the stadium."
Pakistan-born Tahir has played 20 Tests, 84 ODIs and 36 Twenty20 internationals for South Africa and has represented six English counties.
