The 33-year-old New Zealander is the Premiership's top points scorer this season.
His side, Wasps, are currently topping the regular season table.
Owen Farrell was named as the England men's player of the year after helping his side to back-to-back Six Nations titles.
Tamara Taylor took the women's prize.
Gopperth’s compatriot, former New Zealand fly-half Dan Carter, was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Carter is the all-time leading points scorer in Test history.
