Jota takes on Liverpool FC’s two ePremier League champions

Liverpool FC’s first team star Diogo Jota tested his EA SPORTS FIFA 21 skills as the took on the club’s two ePremier League grand finalists in a head to head battle for LFC’s ePL All Star Game.

Both of the club’s ePremier League grand finalists proved exactly why they earned they spot to represent Liverpool FC, with Dan ‘Stingrayjnr’ Ray beating Diogo 3-0 and Donovan 'Tekkz' Hunt taking the win over Diogo with a 5-0 score.

Tekkz and Stingrayjnr played their way to the grand finals to represent Liverpool FC across Xbox and PlayStation, which will take place from 23-26 March, after coming out on top of their groups in the online club playoffs.

Diogo Jota was crowned champion of the ePremier League Player invitational tournament last season, after beating Alexander-Arnold on a Golden Goal in the final following a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes.

Proving they’re amongst the best FIFA players in the country currently, all three contenders battled it out in a friendly playoff competition on PlayStation with Jota seeing how he faired against the club’s two champions.

Diogo Jota said: “Having won the ePremier League Player invitational last season, it’s been an honour to compete in the LFC ePL All Star Game against two fantastic players who are extremely deserving of their places in the ePL grand finals. Their performance here just shows their immense level of skill. Playing in a friendly game like today, I can only imagine how intense it is for these two, being in with a chance of being crowned the ultimate champion. I’m wishing our finalists lots of luck as they go on to represent our club and hope they can bring that trophy home.”

Tekkz and Stingrayjnr will now come up against 38 representatives from the other 19 Premier League clubs in the ePremier League grand finals. The group stages and quarter-finals on each console will take place on 23 and 24 March 2021.

The tournament reaches its climax on Friday 26 March, when the remaining players will take part in the console semi-finals, before the console finals and cross-console final. As well as being crowned 2020/21 ePremier League champion, the winner will take home the grand prize of £20,000.
