Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa has been named the the Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month for July.
Bielsa beat off competition from Steve Cooper (Swansea City), Nathan Jones (Luton Town), Michael O’Neill (Stoke City), Scott Parker (Fulham) and Gerhard Struber (Barnsley), to win his second monthly accolade of the season.
It was a fine month for Bielsa and Leeds, who won all six games, scoring 17 goals, conceding just two.
July started with an impressive 3-1 away victory against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park, which was followed up by a rampant 5-0 win against Stoke City at Elland Road.
Pablo Hernandez’s late winner then gave Leeds another three points on the road at Swansea City, before Yorkshire rivals Barnsley were defeated 1-0 on home soil.
Results elsewhere saw Leeds United become champions ahead of the penultimate trip of the season to Pride Park and following a guard of honour, the Whites put in another delightful display, with a 3-1 away win.
Leeds rounded off July and the season with another champions performance and a sixth straight win, with a 4-0 victory over Charlton Athletic at Elland Road, before lifting the Sky Bet Championship title.
