Maro Itoje fractures jaw

England lock Maro Itoje fractured his jaw whilst playing for the Saracens.

The 23-year-old collided with Mike Brown from the Harlequins during a match on Sunday, 3 December, and was forced to leave the pitch in the 48^th minute. The Sarries went on to lose the game 20-19.

The full extent of Itoje’s injury has been revealed in a scan. He will visit a specialist this week to determine when he will be able to return.

England begin the defence of their Six Nations title in less than nine weeks, away to Italy on Sunday, 4 February.
