Mo Farah put in a solid display to finish third in the London Marathon - his first 26.2-mile race since retiring from the track.
The four-time Olympic champion finished with a time of two hours, six minutes and 21 seconds – two minutes and five seconds behind winner Eliud Kipchoge of Kenya.
Farah's time broke the previous British record, set by Steve Jones in 1985.
It is Kipchoge's third victory in the race. He finished 33 seconds ahead of the surprise second place, Ethiopa's Tola Shura Kitata.
