Nadal wins record 10th Monte Carlo Masters

Rafael Nadal won the Monte Carlo Masters for a record 10th time on Sunday, 23 April.

The ‘King of Clay’ beat Spanish compatriot Albert Ramos-Viñolas 6-1, 6-3.

It is the first time a player has held 10 wins in one ATP event. It is possible he may achieve a hat-trick of 10s – competing in Barcelona this week and then onto Paris.

The 30-year-old has rediscovered form on his favourite surface, having gone a year without a win – his last victory coming at his home tournament in Barcelona last year.
