It is the first time a player has held 10 wins in one ATP event. It is possible he may achieve a hat-trick of 10s – competing in Barcelona this week and then onto Paris.
The 30-year-old has rediscovered form on his favourite surface, having gone a year without a win – his last victory coming at his home tournament in Barcelona last year.
