New Zealand beat the British and Irish Lions 30-15 in the first Test meeting out of three.
The hopes of a shock win by the visitors were dashed by a ruthless display from the All Blacks at Eden Park.
The match looked close at half time, poised at 13-8.
But after the Lions failed to make the most of a close opportunity early in the second period the home side struck again through Rieko Ioane's try in the corner after more stereotypical fast hand work from the world’s best team.
Substitutions for the Lions struggled to make any impact, with Ioane feasting off an error to race away for his second.
Rhys Webb’s late try came only as a consolation for the visitors.
The second Test takes place in Wellington next Saturday, 1 July.
