Manchester United have announced Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will take over as caretaker manager until the end of the season.
The 45-year-old takes on the role following the sacking of Jose Mourinho on Monday. United have had their worst start to a season for 28 years and currently sit sixth in the Premier League.
Solskjaer spent 11 seasons at Old Trafford, scoring the winning goal in the 1999 Champions League final.
The Norwegian said: "Manchester United is in my heart and it's brilliant to be coming back in this role. This is an opportunity I had to take.
"I'm really looking forward to working with the very talented squad we have, the staff and everyone at the club."
