Merseyside Police have opened an investigation following a brawl during Everton’s Europa League game against Lyon.
Ashley Williams instigated a scuffle in the box on Thursday night, 19 October, after barging into the visitors’ goalkeeper. The fight moved towards the hoardings at the Gwladys Street End, where it appears an Everton supporter holding a child pushed a Lyon player.
Uefa is awaiting reports from match officials at the game before deciding whether to take any action.
Everton were fined £8,837 by Uefa last month, after crowd trouble during the home leg of their Europa League play-off match against Hajduk Split in August.
