The president of Real Madrid has said he expects Cristiano Ronaldo to stay at the club.
Florentino Perez says the Portuguese star is “angry” but will most likely not go elsewhere.
Ronaldo is due in court next month over allegations of tax fraud. He has denied any wrongdoing and was reported to be so outraged with Spanish authorities that he was considering leaving the country.
The 32-year-old has since been linked with a move back to Manchester United.
The current manager of United, Jose Mourinho, who was also boss of Ronaldo during a spell at the Bernabeu, has been accused with similar accusations by Spanish authorities.
Perez spoke about Ronaldo on esRadio's El Primer Palo: "He has a contract with Real Madrid and, when he stops playing at the Confederations Cup, we will talk. He's angry, that's for sure, because he is an honest person who fulfils his obligations.
"I have not talked to him but we are delighted that he is in Madrid. I think he will continue in Madrid."
