The controversial boxer Tyson Fury has announced that he will not apply to have his boxing licence renewed.
The former heavyweight champion had his licence revoked in October 2016, after allegations of doping emerged in June of that year, but had been hinting at a comeback in March.
However, the 29-year-old has appeared to put an end to speculation when he tweeted on Wednesday, 4 October: "After thinking long and hard about my return, I will not be applying for a BBBofC boxing license. After the way they have handled stuff, no thanks."
He has not fought since November 2015, when he shocked Wladimir Klitschko in Dusseldorf to claim the IBF, WBO and WBA world titles.
During his absence from the ring he was stripped of all three titles.
