Wayne has finalised a deal that will see him leave Everton for America.
The 32-year-old has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with MLS side DC United. There is no transfer fee but it is understood DC United have agreed a compensation package with the Toffees.
Rooney re-joined Everton in July 2017 having spent 13 seasons at Manchester United.
The former England captain made 40 appearances for the club last season and was the Toffee's top scorer with 11 goals.
