Wayne Rooney is to travel to America to meet with the Major League Soccer side DC United.
The 32-year-old has already agreed a deal in principle with the club, which would see him leave his boyhood team Everton.
Rooney re-joined the Toffees in July 2017 having spent 13 seasons at Manchester United.
The former England captain made 40 appearances for the club last season and was Everton's top scorer with 11 goals.
