Bury’s Yates brothers are set to ride in the Vuelta a Espana – the third and final Grand Tour of the cycling calendar.
Adam and Simon, who both ride for team Mitchelton-Scott, are heading to Spain in an attempt to gain experience at riding multiple Grand Tours within the same season.
Simon, 26, impressed in the Giro d’Italia, holding onto the leader’s jersey for 13 days before cracking spectacularly on stage 19 and finishing over 40 minutes down on eventual winner Chris Froome.
Adam had a more modest showing at this year’s Tour de France, finishing in 29th - more than an hour behind winner Geraint Thomas.
He will ride in support of Simon in the Vuelta, which starts in Malaga on 25 August.
