In the dog house! Bad behaviour costing dog owners £3billion a year

    The average British dog owner spends more than £350 a year as a result of their pet's bad behaviour. That equates to £4,000 over their lifetime. Research published today by the Dog's Trust, the UK’s largest dog welfare charity, reveals a catalogue of misdemeanours including damage to shoes, clothes, passports and work documents. Their research found that Brits are spending an average total cost in damages of £3billion. In 2016, Dogs Trust received one call every hour from owners looking to rehome their dogs due to behavioural problems. With research citing 1 in 10 dog owners have given up their four-legged family member because they couldn’t cope with their dog’s behaviour.
