Despite increased conservation efforts across the globe, many of the world’s most iconic species are still facing extinction – some could even disappear within the next 50 years according to the IUCN ‘Red List’ of vulnerable, threatened and endangered species.
Research by New Zealand cider OId Mout and zoologist Jules Howard reveals that 46 counties are represented by national animals that are all threatened in some way with extinction.
To spread the word about the tireless conservation efforts underway in New Zealand to save their national animal, Old Mout has teamed up with Michaela Strachan to film a documentary called ‘A Forgotten World’ which focuses on the work of New Zealand charity Kiwis for Kiwi.
Joining us in the studio to discuss the plight of the world’s threatened national animals is TV presenter and animal expert Michaela Strachan alongside zoologist Jules Howard.
