There has been a shift in the way Brits see charities. Charitable organisations are coming under more scrutiny than ever due to the collapse of charities, such as the Kids’ Company, worrying donors. People are now much more driven by specific causes than a trusted charity name, and there’s a rapidly growing desire to track results from donations and understand how a difference is being made. Charities that find they have fallen short of standards of trust are struggling to stay relevant.
iDE is an international NGO that focuses on encouraging the rural poor to think and act as entrepreneurs using the right tools and loans to grow their business and remain competitive, teaching them how to earn an income, rather than focusing on one-time donations.
Joining us in the studio to discuss charities and trust is UK Chief Executive of iDE Global Iain Hunter.
