Newsroom Special - Dementia Action Week

6 minutes | Thursday, 24 May 2018

This week is Dementia Action Week. Across the UK there are approximately 850,000 people living with dementia. That number is predicted to rise to over a million by 2025.

To support Dementia Action Week, British Gas is raising awareness of the practical issues that can seriously impact people with dementia, and those who care for them, calling on them to get in touch with their energy suppliers and find out how they can be better supported. British Gas believes that at least 100,000 of its customers across the UK are living alone in their own homes with dementia – one in every 100 households the company serves.

Joining us today is Steve Crabb from British Gas, to discuss how people with dementia and those who care for them can get access to the support they need from their energy suppliers.
