With temperatures set to soar this week and pollen levels expected to be high, it’s no wonder the nation’s 9 million hay fever sufferers will be feeling the full force of the seasonal condition.
New data has shown 44 out of 51 UK cities have levels of air pollution above the recommended limit, and ‘pollenution’ is the combined effect of high air pollution and pollen.
As hay fever season arrives for another year, the research indicates most Britons are unaware that high pollution levels can exacerbate symptoms, normally thought to be worse in areas with fields and forestry.
Meteorologist and TV Presenter Clare Nassir is alongside Boots UK pharmacist Natalie Masters. They offer up their advice for city dwellers on how best to manage hay fever symptoms this season.
