New research from Leeds Building Society reveals the vast majority of Brits use their local park on a regular basis and see it as a valuable part of their lives.
These green spaces give us a sense of belonging and local pride with almost a third (31%) saying that using their local park makes them feel more connected to their community.
However, according to the research, seven out of 10 of those surveyed said their parks were in need of an upgrade.
Almost a third (31%) would like to see these areas benefit from more arranged community or council run events such as Parkrun.
To tell us more about the research we were joined by founder of Parkrun Paul Sinton-Hewitt and Peter Hill, CEO at Leeds Building Society.
