The vast majority of us are looking forward to a happy family Christmas. And with safety in the home paramount, it’s good news that over a fifth of people recognise the ‘present’ they fear the most this Christmas is having a carbon monoxide (CO) issue within their home with its potentially fatal consequences.
However, the same research from Gas Safe Register also worryingly reveals that millions of UK homes are potentially at risk.
Over a third of people (34%) either don’t have or don’t know if they have a working CO alarm in their home which is worrying as you can’t see, taste or smell CO so an alarm would alert people to potentially fatal CO leaking from their gas appliances.
