Transport for the North (TfN) launched its draft Strategic Transport Plan last month which proposes a new Trans Pennine rail line as part of Northern Powerhouse Rail (NPR) that connects Manchester and Leeds, via Bradford. A consultation event on these plans was held in Bradford last week, and was attended by leading political stakeholders, local residents and businesses.
Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw, Portfolio holder for Regeneration, Planning and Transport at Bradford Council and spokesperson for the Next Stop Bradford campaign, joined us to explain what differences a Northern Powerhouse Rail station could make for Bradford.
