A report from Unite Students revealed that only 55% of the parents of 16-19-year-olds polled think that their child is able to cook a meal from scratch on their own – yet 78% of teenagers are confident they can; 39% believe their kids won’t wash their bed sheets more than once a month – 84% reckon they will; and 21% of parents don’t even think their children can use a vacuum cleaner - 98% of teenagers say they can.
