Newsroom Special - Paying more on energy-efficiency to increase price of home

7 minutes | Thursday, 24 January 2019

This week is ‘Big Energy Saving Week’ (21st-27th January) and that means it’s the perfect time to assist Brits on what energy efficient measures they should be looking for when buying or renting properties.

Research shows that many of us want to improve our overall energy efficiency around our homes, which in turn could improve our environmental footprint.

In fact, new research from the campaign for a smarter Britain has shown that a quarter of Brits said they would be willing to spend up to 10% more on a new property to ensure it is energy efficient when they move in. Further, one in ten (10%) would freely spend between 10% and 20% more on a new house/flat that has had energy efficient features recently installed.

To share his top tips on upgrading your home we were joined by Phil Spencer from Channel 4's Location, Location, Location.
