The internet is bumper-to-bumper with near misses captured on motorists’ dash cam cameras and it seems an increasing number of drivers are turning to the devices to protect themselves.
New research shows that almost 1 in 5 (16%) motorists now own a dash cam. The research by Halfords shows a third (32%) of motorists feel safer when driving with a dash cam and retail analyst GfK says sales have soared 600% in three years.
The demand is driven by a number of factors including ‘crash for cash’ scams, according to the Insurance Fraud Bureau.
