With the average household in the UK creating over a tonne of waste each year, about the weight of a small car, TV presenter and passionate sustainability advocate Kate Humble is hoping to encourage Brits to make intelligent choices when it comes to reducing plastic waste.
It is estimated that an average of 35.8 million plastic bottles are used every day in the UK, but only 19 million are recycled each day. This means there are on average 16 million plastic bottles not making their way into the recycling bin.
Kate is on a mission to shine a light on the UK’s current throwaway culture and to inspire small, achievable actions to create a cleaner world. To do this, Kate has partnered with Dettol to launch their mission to help trigger a cleaner world tomorrow by altering our daily cleaning actions at home today.
